Pesticide Licenses

All pesticide licenses in the state of Florida are regulated by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), under the direction of either the Bureau of Compliance Monitoring or the Bureau of Entomology and Pest Control. The Bureau of Compliance Monitoring regulates pesticide applicators that apply restricted use pesticides in agricultural and related sites. The Bureau of Entomology and Pest Control regulates Pest Control Operators, the Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance applicators and the Limited Lawn and Ornamental applicators. The Pest Control Operator and Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance Licenses are both commercial license while the Limited Lawn and Ornamental License is only for employees of private companies and government agencies who do pest control as part of their job.

CEUs can be earned by attending educational programs at the Alachua County Cooperative Extension Office. These programs offer valuable and timely information on crop production, pestcides, pesticide safety, label changes, as well as variety updates for crops and ornamental plants. For a list of upcoming programs, please visit the Alachua County Extension Calendar.
