Meet Your Ag and Natural Resource Agent
Barton Wilder
Barton Wilder is your Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent for Alachua County. Barton grew up on a small farm in Plant City, Florida.
He completed his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and is currently working towards a Master’s degree in Agronomy specializing in weed science to be completed December, 2008. Barton’s master’s thesis is on the control and biology of giant and small smutgrass.
His focus as Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent will include the North Florida Beef and Forage Group, Agronomic Crops, Natural Resources and 4H. Barton’s Extension programming will include forages, weed control, row crops and aquaculture.
