Before You Tie the Knot - Premarital Preparation

This is an educational program offering constructive guidance to couples as they being life as a married couple. The program is designed to help you understand that it takes both partners working together to make a marriage successful. How well you handle your own emotions and relate to your partner's emotions and needs will determine how well you will adjust to being married.

The challenge of creating a good marriage is a great one. This class will guide you through the process. It will help you to make choices and decisions about how you can make choices and decisions about how you can make your marriage a happy, lasting one.

These Extension workshops fulfill the requirements of Florida Statute 741, Marriage Preparation and Preservation Act, and have been approved by the Circuit Court of Alachua County.

Registration (no cost) is due no later than one week prior to class. A minimum of three couples must be registered or class will be canceled.

Before You Tie The Knot covers the following: Communication, Conflict Management & Resolution, Financial Responsibility & Spending Plans, and Children & Parenting Responsibilities.

Completion of this course is required to receive a $32.50 reduction of marriage license fee and a waiver of the three day waiting period. You will receive a certificate of completion and a copy for you to take to the Clerk of the Court.

ServSafe Food Safety Training for Managers

This course meets the Florida Criteria for food managers of all establishments. Passing the exam will meet National hamburgerCertification - good for five years.

The next trainings and exams are scheduled for Jnauary 7, or February 4, or March 24, or April 15, or May 13, or June 10, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Pre-register with the University of Florida Food Safety and Quality Program at 352-392-8196 or visit the website at http://foodsafety.ifas.ufl.edu. Class and exam are held at the Alachua County Extension Office. Fee required.
